About Danielle Porteous

Danielle is the Director of Leadership Giving at SOS Children’s Villages - Canada, where she cultivates transformational gifts to help the world’s most vulnerable children and families. She has over two decades of experience in fundraising, marketing and relationship management for charities and non-profits in Canada and the UK. Danielle works closely with SOS’s principal donors, foundations, community and corporate partners to help them fulfill their philanthropic goals. Throughout her career Danielle has concentrated on building strong relationships with donors, ambassadors and partners. Previous roles include Director of Development at MK Community Foundation, Head of Major Gifts at RSPB, Marketing and Fundraising Manager with the Wildlife Trusts and Partnerships and Sponsorship Manager at Girlguiding UK. Danielle is an active member of the TED movement, twice curating TEDxMiltonKeynes and as an executive team member of TEDx events in London,UK and Ottawa. She is a regular speaker at fundraising and corporate events, sharing her passion for building a global culture of philanthropy.
