About Danielle S. Rhen

I am a passionate and ambitious interdisciplinary project manager, international businesswoman, and researcher/research consultant with 15+ years of experience in building and guiding successful teams, mentoring, and delivering solutions. My projects aim to develop sustainable and innovative solutions that enable improved quality life for people and animals. I currently work with a creative and interdisciplinary team at SLA to design and develop innovative industrial systems and SaaS products by using artificial intelligence (AI)-supported software, hardware, and embedded solutions. I also mentor students and support research projects based on my extensive experience in supporting the entire research pipeline from conceptualization and grant proposal writing to problem solving, meeting milestones, administration, and publishing. Recently (2021-early 2024): • Rescued two failing projects in the fields of AI supported automated swine carcass inspection and in the fermentation of mycelia alternative protein, which enabled commercialization business models and integrated industrial implementations in both sectors. • Designed and led the development of more than 10 real-time AI models and related pipelines for industrial application. • Co-designed a low-cost bioreactor. • Co-invented a real-time embedded monitoring system for outdoor large animal facilities. • Organized and led international stakeholders’ meetings. • Led and managed commercialization team to develop an AI SaaS product based on successful research. • Wrote 2 successful interdisciplinary project grant proposals, one German and one EU, to secure over 1 Million Euros in funding over the next 5 years for my client. • Secured collaboration partners at prestigious European research institutes • Impressed largest German slaughterhouses with developed AI system to secure collaboration and customers.
