About Danielle Sloan

PhD researcher at the University of Aberdeen working in collaboration with the Scottish Government Marine Directorate on a multi-disciplinary investigation into the connectivity of flame shell beds in Scottish waters. Through the combination of bio-physical modelling and population genomics, my research focuses on understanding how these protected populations are connected, with an aim to better inform management decisions. I am passionate about the application of academic research to real-world conservation efforts, contributing to the sustainable management of marine resources, specifically to benthic biogenic habitats. Excels in managing multiple projects concurrently and collaborating with academic, industry, government and charity partners across various disciplines, demonstrating adaptability in learning new techniques and engaging with new research fields.
