About Danielle Sullivan

I recognized early in my nursing career that I was meant to be nursing leader and my passion was for elders. I became a Director of Nursing Services by the time I was 26 years old for the largest SNF/NF facility in the state of Maine caring for 219 residents and managing 150 plus staff. While there I helped assist the facility achieve a 5 star facility rating on CMS Nursing Home Compare and successfully trained 100% of the nursing staff and implemented policies and procedures related to IV therapy. I pride on assisting the front line caregivers on improving patient outcomes. While under my leadership the staff and I worked together to create and maintain a quality improvement project on the reduction of facility acquired pressure ulcers from 18.9% to 2.8% in less than a year. For that the facility was recognized and received a national quality improvement award. In 2012 I was the recipient of the Tomorrow's Leader award sponsored by CHA, a national leadership organization, for being identified as a young anf influential leader for the Catholic healthcare industry. I've helped reduce readmissions to an acute care setting from over 20% to 8%. To sum it up quickly. I make a difference everyday in not only the lives of my patients but my staff as well and that is a beautiful thing!
