About Danielle Unger

I am a licensed clinical social worker with eight years of experience working in the mental health field in New Orleans. I have spent this time working for a dynamic and progressive federally qualified healthcare center with a large and diverse client population. I began my work in a community-based position, providing case management and supportive counseling to people with disabilities who are living in supportive housing. After five years in that position, I transitioned into working as a Behavioral Health Consultant and a Behavioral Therapist at Crescent Care St. Roch. Last year I took a big leap for my personal and professional fulfillment and went back to school again to get my MFA in Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans. I am still practicing as a therapist part-time. I hope that my new endeavors in writing, editing, and writing instruction will expand and complement my clinical mental health skillset.
