About Danielle Vale

I have worked in Pohwer for 6 years- in this time I have been a independent advocate upholding the rights of people with substantial difficulty. I worked within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire providing advocacy under the mental health act, mental capacity act, the care act and nhs complaints. I was also involved with transforming care cases which was an initiative born from the Winterbourne view scandal and aimed to keep people out of institutions and promoting their independence. After 4 years of working on various projects and as a independent advocate I became the supervisor of our West Midlands contract, which covers several local authorities. In this time the pandemic had just hit and I started a well-being initiative to support colleagues. This won me a national award within pohwer as the most supportive colleague. I then moved into our Birmingham contract as a supervisor. In this time I learnt how to report write, collect and analyse data and support staff with their day to day roles, which included a new area of community advocacy. I have since become the manager of the Gloucester contract where I now support and lead a team of advocates, write quarterly and annual reports and have recently been involved with a re tender of the service. My degree was In psychology and whilst at university I was a hate crime officer within Derby and Derbyshire I also mentored children to assist with them getting into higher education.
