About Danielle Valiquette
Danielle Valiquette joined the Roncalli International Foundation in April 2019. Previously, she worked for the International Bureau for Children's Rights in 2017. Since its creation in 1994, the IBCR has carried out mandates in over 45 countries to help protect the rights of thousands of children. At the very beginning of 2015 Danielle, joined the ranks of Village Monde’s which is a social business at the crossroads of technological entrepreneurship and international development. Danielle was the first Executive Director and positioned Village Monde as a leader in sustainable tourism: a powerful tool for economic development. Formely, she was the Chief Program Officer at ONE DROP where she played a key role in imagining ONE DROP and the AZULA Fund. She contributed significantly to launching these two organizations, developed strategic partnerships and ensured their sustained growth. Results: Annual budget of $ 1M to $ 14M in 8 years, and a sustainable impact on 2 million people. Thanks to her contribution, ONE DROP was also awarded two prestigious prizes in the water sector: the "International Water Association" Innovation Prize and the UN-Water Prize "Water for Life"; Best Practices. In addition, Danielle worked at Oxfam-Québec for over 15 years managing international programs in a variety of contexts: humanitarian, reconstruction, long-term development with multiple stakeholders and partners. Based in Kenya, she managed a program in the Horn of Africa region (Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti) to enhance the capacities of local organizations involved in community media, justice and gender equality. She also worked at the International Center for Human Rights and Democratic Development for 2 years where she organized, among a variety of initiatives, a high profile mission composed of 10 Nobel Peace Prize recipients to secure the freedom of Aung San Suu Kyi and other political prisoners in Burma.
