After beginning my journey into the energy industry in February 2018, I have had so many opportunities to learn and grow, which enabled me to progress into my current role as Regulatory Manager for Settlement Reform.Net Zero is so incredibly important for the UK to achieve, with climate change at the forefront of my motivation. Working with Ofgem is allowing me to truly make an impact on our industry and by extension, our planet. Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement is essential in creating a smart energy network and something I was always interested in when working for an energy supplier. I've seen the operational efforts to meet smart targets and can now see the impact these smart meters will have on our network.Had you told me in 2018 that I would work for the regulator I don't think I would have believed you! So take this as a reminder that if you are passionate and driven, the opportunity will always come.
