About Danielle Wilson

I am currently a student at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy as part of their Class of 2024 cohort. I am very fortunate to be located at the college's Orlando campus. On campus, I serve as our Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP) chapter President. The goal of our chapter is to provide our student body with events and opportunities that will help them become the best candidates possible for future health-system positions and residency. The core pillars of our organization are professional development, clinical development, and residency preparation. I also serve as KNIGHTS Clinic Chair within the Inter-Professional Healthcare Coalition. I, along with our Clinic Board Representative, work with the UCF College of Medicine to organize volunteers from both colleges to provide care to the underserved populations of Orlando out of Grace Medical Home. I have also served as a Class of 2024 Representative on the Policy and Advocacy Committee within APhA-ASP since my first year in pharmacy school. I help organize events to educate the student body about important pharmacy legislature, meet with Florida state representatives to advocate for our profession, and help raise money for our PAC. Additionally, I am also a member of the Rho Chi Honor Society within the College of Pharmacy and provide tutoring services to my peers. Outside of the college, I am currently an intern at Nemours Children's Hospital. There, I have become proficient at non-sterile and sterile compounding, inter-professional communication, and providing patient-centered care. Both of my parents are teachers and I am very passionate about the importance of education. I have always lived by the mantra "knowledge is power". After pharmacy school, I hope to empower patients to be their best advocates by providing patient-centered care and education. I envision myself in a transitions of care or ambulatory care setting. I am planning on pursuing a residency post graduation to help me reach this goal. I am originally from Bradenton, Florida. I graduated from the University of Florida in December of 2019 with my bachelor's in Biochemistry and a minor in Business Administration. I am an avid reader and podcast listener. I played soccer the majority of my life, but now enjoy attending classes at Orange Theory Fitness or going for a run outside. I look forward to connecting with you!
