About Danilo Cicalese

I am currently a Patent Examiner at the European Patent Office. I worked as senior fellowship at CERN sponsored by INTEL working on data acquisition system and network monitoring for various experiments. I received my PhD in Télécom ParisTech (ENST) and University Pierre and Marie CURIE (UPMC) under the supervision of prof. Dario Rossi and prof. Timur Friedman working on Internet measurements. Between September 2016 and February 2017 I was visiting CAIDA, UC San Diego, working with Alberto Dainotti working on detection of Internet hijacks events. Prior to this, I received my MSc and BSc in Computer Engineering, both from Università di Napoli "Federico II" with summa cum laude. My main research interests are in the field of Internet Measurement, Network Security, Traffic Analysis and Traffic Classification, Data Acquisition System. To summarize my achievements in these last few years, I have coauthored more than 10 papers in leading conferences (including INFOCOM and ACM CoNEXT) and journals (including JSAC, TON, ACM CCR). I am honored to have received distinctions such as the IETF Applied Network Research Prize (2016) and several other awards (see below).
