About Danilo Cimadomo

I have received a Bachelor and Master of Science cum laude at the University of Pavia in Medical Biotechnologies and in Molecular Biology and Genetics, respectively. I also completed an advanced course in Novel technologies in molecular medicine at the University of Padova and a Ph.D. in Morphogenesis and Tissue Engineering at the University Sapienza of Rome. After two internships at the University of Pavia and at the University of Cambridge, I started working at the GENERA IVF centers in Italy, where I contributed to the validation, implementation and monitoring of the preimplantation genetic testing program in collaboration with the Genetyx laboratory (now Igenomix Italy). I was the science and research manager of GeneraLife IVF, a network of European IVF centers. I am part of the team AI and data management for embryological research at IVIRMA Global Research Alliance and I am the Scientific coordinator of IVIRMA Italia. Since July 2025, I am Associate Professor at the University of Pavia, Department Biology and Biotechnology Lazzaro Spallanzani, Laboratory Biology and Biotechnology of Reproduction. I am passionate about sharing my expertise. I am reviewer for several international journals in the field of reproductive medicine, associate editor of the journals Human Reproduction and Reproductive BioMedicine Online. I am author of more than 160 papers in peer-reviewed journals. I am the coordinator of the special interest group in clinical embryology of the Italian society of embryology, research and reproduction (SIERR), and the coordinator of the special interest group in implantation and early pregnancy (SIGIEP) of the European society of human reproduction and embryology (ESHRE). I am part of the Teaching Committee of the Master course ‘Biology and Biotechnology of Reproduction: from Research to Clinic’ at the University of Pavia.
