About Danilo Pignotti

I am a Data and Functional Analyst with a strong background in bioinformatics, data science, and software systems. My academic journey, which included internships at the Institute of Systems Analysis and Informatics (IASI) and the Institute for Applied Computing (IAC) at the National Research Council (CNR), led to a research fellowship at the University of Viterbo and a PhD scholarship. Professionally, I recently worked as a Software Developer and Data Analyst in Industrial IoT and structural health monitoring. My role involved designing and implementing end-to-end data analysis pipelines, creating technical documentation and reports, managing system configurations, and defining functional and technical requirements. I have a broad set of technical skills, including Python, with expertise in the Anaconda distribution and libraries such as Pandas for data manipulation, NumPy for numerical computing, and Matplotlib for data visualization. Additionally, I am proficient in C, Ruby, and Bash Shell scripting for system programming and automation. I am also experienced in MySQL, focusing on data modeling using Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams for relational database design (ERDBMS). My web development skills include HTML and CSS, and I am adept at document preparation with LaTeX. I have extensive experience with Linux (desktop and server environments), and advanced skills in Excel (including pivot tables), PowerBI for data visualization, and working with ERP systems. This diverse skill set allows me to take a structured, analytical, and outcome-oriented approach to every project, effectively bridging the gap between data analysis, software engineering, and business needs.
