About Danisha Kumar

Hello, Danisha here. I am a medical school student at one of the best public medical universities DOW Medical College, Karachi. I graduated as the highest achiever from one of the most prestigious girls' schools, Convent of Jesus and Mary School, Karachi, and was also an integral part of the Student Body. I am also one of the alumna and honor students of the most competitive schools, NATIONAL STEM SCHOOL in Pakistan, where I majored in aeronautics. However, a change of heart and passion for medicine led me to medical school. I began my professional career as a writer for an e-tabloid, THE DESI. I interned at their History, Current affairs, and Science divisions. During COVID-19, I really got my big break when I was selected as one of the candidates for STEM School. During my time there, I was exposed to a lot of research work mainly focusing on computing biomedicine, neurosciences, and synthetic biology. I also received a lot of personal mentor-mentee training from professors and alumna of high-end universities namely MIT, Harvard, Oxbridge, AKU, LUMS, NUST, etc. Having a lot of experience with writing and research work, I am open to all content writing and research work. I have also closely worked with the Society of International Education on their "FOOD and COVID-19" program that guided people on the stabilization of the food economy and sustainability factors. Perhaps, my biggest highlight as a STEM student is getting to join a virtual workshop with NASA regarding Perseverance Rover namely NASA training for MARS exploration. I also interned with NASA Cloud Observation and satellite match. Having received offers from high-end universities like Kings College London and Durham University, I chose to stay here in Pakistan. I volunteered at a local hospital which gave me a change of heart and hence chose medicine as a professional career. Right now, I am volunteering for PWA, working as a surveyor for Panelist Portal and working my way through medical school. I hope to gain research and writing opportunities in near future. I am also fluent in IBM SPSS and RevMan for statistical analyses, and an excellent writer when it comes to manuscripts. Coming to my skills, I can retain a large amount of information. I have leadership experience, computer proficiency, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, remarkable research and reporting expertise, and interpersonal management.
