About Danny Bourque

Danny Bourque is a visual artist, musician, and filmmaker living in Seattle, Washington. He received his Bachelor's degree in Communication from Trinity University in 2004 and his Master's degree in Film Production from the University of New Orleans in 2008. His short film Flat Daddy was chosen as a regional finalist in the Student Academy Awards and his short documentary Commode Creations: The Artwork of Barney Smith won the Anarchy Award at the 2007 Slamdance Film Festival. In 2008, his short documentary Eyes of the Storm won the overall best of fest Golden Outhouse award at the LSU Film & Video Festival. He also won first place in the 2005 BEA Festival short film screenplay competition for his film Chthonia. Since 2013, Danny produces electronic music as Glitch Black and has performed live numerous times, including twice in the New Orleans House of Blues. His various forms of visual art have been shown around the world. Some examples include several of his 3D animations displayed at the 2023 Constellations Digital Art Festival in Metz, France, a photo exhibition at the Guadalupe Arts Center in Austin, Texas, and a photo included in the International Exhibition Project of Sculptures and Photography in Moscow, Russia. Professionally, Danny is a video editor, motion graphics designer, and animator servicing clients such as Microsoft, Amazon, Hasbro, and AOL. He currently works full-time for Freeman's marketing department. Danny's latest personal project is the 3D animated short film Sunspark which he wrote, directed, and animated entirely himself over nearly two years. Sunspark is expected to premiere at a film festival in 2026.
