About Danny Carrascal

I am an Associate in Meltzer Lippe’s Labor & Employment practice group. I possess a wealth of practical and substantive experience in traditional labor law as well employment litigation. Prior to joining Meltzer Lippe, I worked at a labor and employment firm where I specialized in the defense of wage and hour allegations and discrimination claims. I have also advised business owners and human resources professionals in drafting employee handbooks and employment-related documents and agreements. I have extensive experience in presenting sexual harassment prevention training mandated by New York State and City in English and Spanish to employees and managers. During law school, I was an Associate Editor for the Hofstra Law Review and was awarded the Samuel M. Kaynard Memorial Summer Fellowship in Labor and Employment Law, which gave me the opportunity to complete an internship at the Manhattan office (“Region 2”) of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). I also completed a semester-long externship at the national headquarters of the NLRB in Washington, D.C. Prior to embarking on my legal career, I completed a Master of Science degree in Hospitality Management at Florida International University and worked in the restaurant/hospitality industry in Miami, Florida for over ten years. This work allowed me to acquire knowledge and practical experience in labor and employment matters related to wage and hour law, discrimination, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation, OSHA and other employment laws and regulations. I am Cuban-American and originally from Miami, Florida. I am a loyal Miami Dolphins fan and also enjoy classical music, traveling, fishing, and cooking.
