About Danny de Schutter

We have only one planet to live on (so far) and need to change our behaviours, production and consumption patterns to ensure we can continue to thrive in harmony with our environment. My passion is to bring about this change, working with clients and broader systems to chart a path forward, particularly cutting emissions through more sustainable use of energy resources. I bring to this task 20+ years experience as a management consultant, serving diverse clients predominantly in utilities, government and fast moving consumer goods. I have lead teams in boutique and Tier 1 consultancies, and was also General Manager Strategy at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency. I successfully combine traditional consulting methods and human-centred design approaches to create a great client experience with action-oriented results. On the side I also engage with start-ups and incumbents in the energy sector as advisor and mentor, to help them drive the transformation to a more sustainable energy future. I am easily enthused by new challenges and problems to solve. I get the most motivation from seeing tangible outcomes of my team’s work. I'm an extrovert who loves thinking through problems with smart colleagues (a Social Thinker is the term), does not over-analyse but is keen to turn to action to 'get the job done'. I've had the opportunity to live and work in various locations in the world including SE Asia and the Middle East, which helped create a global perspective on business and the cultural awareness necessary to relate to people of various backgrounds.
