About Danny James
After a successful Basketball playing career I retired in moving to Bristol. Working in Special Education for 2 years I then had a chance to build a Basketball community in Bristol through Filton College and its desire to have a Basketball Academy and associated Club. Building what is now one of the most successful clubs in the Country, employing staff and developing a large community programme. Whilst developing the Basketball programme I was able to gain experience which allowed me to diversify my role. Using skills in management, Bid writing and project management I moved away from just delivery. Sport has given me a large and varied skill set which I am now applying in a new sector, the care sector. Currently employed as a Business Development Manager at a Charity supporting Adults with disabilities. I enjoy making a difference to people's lives, and providing new opportunities. I love spending time watching my children grow up. I will always love Basketball and support the sport in many facets, Coach Ed, coaching, refereeing and club consultancy. Although this is in my spare time this is still very rewarding.
