About Danny Kotula

I live for the intersection of sports, communication, and culture. My passion is finding ways to promote worthy people, teams and stories, and I have demonstrated success in all aspects of that process. In May 2026, I will complete a Master's degree in Mass Communications with a Sports Communication certificate at Oklahoma State University. As a top-choice as a graduate assistant at OSU, I've been utilized as a guest lecturer, teaching assistant, podcast editor and administrative assistant. I won the 2024-2025 Distinguished Graduate Assistant award for my academic and professional contributions. My on-air experience is highlighted by play-by-play commentary in NCAA Division I athletics and professional sports for both radio and television. I've lended my voice to LEARFIELD and beIN Sports Xtra among many others in five years and over 300 games on the mic. As a student journalist, I was named Sports Writer of the Year and took third-place honors in the Journalist of the Year category in 2022 from the Southeast Journalism Conference. I hold a dual bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Spanish from Lipscomb University; my Spanish fluency is bolstered by study, research, and mission experiences across Latin America. In 2023, I spent 10 months in Cochabamba, Bolivia on a Fulbright US Student Grant. My research was an informal approach to how public relations, advertising and marketing are understood academically and professionally outside of a non-Western context.
