About Dany de Cecchis

Although I wouldn't say I like selling myself, let me say some things about myself. I have a personal sense of responsibility and am committed to my job (institutional commitment). I love hearing suggestions for improvements when I work in a team. I value positive communication, although sometimes, one needs to be tolerant of abrasive criticism. Both success and failures are collective. I always learn and never settle. Because I was a boy scout for several years, living and learning the scouting principles and law, I learned about smiling during difficulties, being loyal and accountable, team-working, friendship, family, and leadership. I have an extensive experience in higher education; as a researcher and professor for under and graduate students. I am passionate about inspiring my student to look at the not-obvious things, judging and challenging knowledge. I always invite them to go further. I perform my research in a very positive and open team environment. I participate in multidisciplinary teams where we learn together with each other. I enjoy programming, but currently, I only do it sometimes. Parallel programming is challenging but also exciting. As the leader of an organization, I keep accountable to my personnel and use the same principles of teamwork style. I inspire them to work together for a common goal. For me, the active contribution of all members is valuable in all organizations. The research areas of interest are scientific computing, parallel programming, modeling, and simulations. Lately, I have been working with chemical processing applications.
