About Daphne Andreani

My love and passion for music came from my mother Willy Chichou Bryan. My approach to teaching encompasses Music, Theater and Dance. While studying at the Royal Academy in Den Hague, I fell in love how the Royal Conservatoire embraced the three Performing Arts. When studying my Post Graduate studies at the Julliard School of Music in Piano Performance along with studying Dance at Martha Graham and Theater with Stella Adler in NYC, I could no longer deny that the three Arts needed one another. I found such Joy! The puzzle of separating them cannot be in my vocabulary! My strength in my unique style of teaching is knowing the structure of Composition, Piano Performance and the fascinating complexity to the complete World of the Performing Arts.(Music, Theater, Dance) Music is the emotional window. Therefore the creativity must have no judgement from the teacher. I believe I am present to guide my students to their talent and it must be a journey they are privy too. There is no wrong note to be played as long as its played musically! The musical structure will be known and present, yet, the interpretation is to be the student's true expression. To ensure I understood more about the process of coaching and teaching, I studied and received a Master's certification in Sports Psychology at the JFK University. Piano playing can be like a Sport. The inner discipline, the focus, the confidence, and sheer exhilation of mastering a piece be it from the great Classical composers to the Weekend, there are no boundaries in the discovery of Music. And what my students learn in their piano lessons applies to competition in sports, and the academic classroom. The coaching and passion to learn goes beyond the 88 Keys!
