About Dara Obrien

19 years working in the Financial Services Industry. I am now working as Head of Brokerage Relations for Irish Life Investment Managers attempting to increase the financial education of the public at large and help our distribution partners to turn this education into sustainable investment relationships with their customers. From Podcasts to Press articles, from ideation and concept development to public presentations, from Investment theory to Socially Responsible Investment development, I have developed an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of investing for future prosperity. I have a particular interest in Behavioural Finance and a belief that the Financial Services industry when it comes to investing has, for years, over complicated what is essentially a simple message - ‘Don’t save yourself poorer!’ Doing a better job of speaking in plain English, focusing on simple concepts rather than complex jargon and moving towards infographics and story telling as opposed to wordy portfolio summaries can improve the financial literacy of a public who tend to be far too focused on low yield deposits and bricks & mortar.
