About Darabos Csaba

Currently, I serve as Project Director at a major general contracting company in the construction sector, where I lead a multidisciplinary team of nearly 40 engineers across all specialties. I am responsible for delivering an annual execution portfolio of approximately USD 50 million, overseeing projects from early planning through to handover, ensuring safety, quality, budget adherence, and client satisfaction. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked on projects from every angle—design, permitting and regulatory, investor-side responsibilities, and general contracting. On large industrial megaprojects, I’ve built deep, hands-on expertise in complex permitting regimes, including IPPC/IED, ATEX (zoning and explosion protection), and water-rights licensing, from scoping and stakeholder alignment to authority submissions, audits, and compliance handover. Some projects ran smoothly and it was rewarding to see all the moving parts become something real. Others didn’t go to plan—deadlines slipped, budgets stretched. Those moments taught me that most problems aren’t technical; they’re about communication and coordination. Recently I’ve been intentionally bringing AI-based tools into my day-to-day—both off-the-shelf and solutions I develop—to identify risks, analyze schedules, and visualize data so decisions get simpler, not more complicated. Today, I don’t just see technical content or numbers. I focus on how people can work well together—especially under pressure and in uncertain situations.
