About Darby Roach

As creative director, I lead a team of art directors, designers, copywriters and video artists working on marketing cloud-based artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions for one of the big cloud providers. We develop brand launches, conferences,(booths, presentations, collateral, signage, apparel, and more) brand development, iconography, marketing, advertising and design for a wide variety of cloud-based AI and ML solutions. In addition to my regular duties as creative director, I am in charge of developing design systems and procedures for workflow employing Agile systems such as kanban boards and scrum. I have experience in marketing, direct marketing, design systems, e-book design and production, print, digital and POP. I have won numerous design and advertising awards and my work has been featured in design magazines. I have developed winning campaigns for such marquee clients as Apple, Microsoft, Westin, Nike and more. I hold a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in graphic design from the School of Art, University of Washington, Seattle, and a Master's of Fine Arts in graphic design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence. I am also an adjunct professor of design at Western Washington University where I teach a class on design systems. I have extensive experience in academics, having taught design at RISD and The Pennsylvania State University. I am the author of a book on design, titled:"Your Three Second Window," and write on art and design for the Huffington Post.
