About Darby Welsh

Darby Welsh is a rising senior at the University of Maryland where she is majoring in Bioengineering as well as on the women’s lacrosse team. Darby has a strong work ethic and enjoys the challenge of her studies in bioengineering. She is excited to use all of her studies and knowledge learned from the bioengineering curriculum in real world experiences to solve problems. Darby is looking to pursue a master’s degree in engineering following her graduation in May 2022. Alongside playing lacrosse and studying bioengineering, Darby is also a Garry and Mary Gossett Fellow, as well as participating in the inTERPship program. She was awarded Big Ten All Conference Academic honors in 2020 and 2021, as well as making Dean’s List in Spring 2019, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. Darby is so appreciative of her sport and the opportunities it has granted her, and is excited to use the skills she has learned on and off the field to be of value in the field of bioengineering.
