About Darcy Sullivan

I am Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Kansas and will be defending my dissertation during the 2024 academic year. My areas of expertise are medical sociology, gender and sexuality, and disability studies. My research applies a critical feminist lens to understand the social forces that influence health and health inequalities for marginalized populations, such as people with disabilities. As a scholar, I am passionate about using innovative methodological approaches to investigate health inequalities and inform policy. I have been trained extensively in quantitative and qualitative methodologies. As a doctoral student at the University of Kansas, I have taken 33 hours of statistics and research methodologies coursework, including courses in longitudinal analyses, structural equation modeling, and causal inference. My training in qualitative methodologies includes conducting interviews, focus groups, and observational methods, such as ethnography.
