About Darcy Williamsen

I love helping people and organizations figure out what kind of learning approach will help them achieve their goals. Formally trained in the art of instructional design, I find that I most enjoy front-end analysis and creative learning design, but I am well-versed in all phases of the ADDIE model, whether implemented in an agile fashion or otherwise. In today’s fast-moving world, those in the field of learning and development can easily get overwhelmed by and attracted to evolving technology. My role is stable no matter what delivery mechanism: identify desired outcomes and align them to performance through effective learning experiences. My passions are to work with others to determine learning needs, ideate curricula to best support stellar job performance, design engaging and effective learning experiences, and coach new instructors, content experts with adjunct training duties, or supervisors tasked with training responsibilities. While my background will show depth in designing and implementing classroom training experiences, I also design for blended and micro learning needs. New trends in learning and development are intriguing, but the same principles of good analysis and design based on validated learner-centric outcomes still apply. Specialties: ADDIE, front-end analysis, training/learning design and development, training evaluation, instructor coaching and observation. I have lived and worked abroad (China), and speak Mandarin and Spanish, though both are rusty.
