About Daren W Lyons

I have my pilot's license, that puts me in a rare position, less than 0.04% of the world can do that. I have an Extra Class Amateur radio license, there is less than 0.04% of the world that has that accomplishment. I was hired at a technical company as a technician based on my high school and life experience but without a degree, the first time they had ever had someone do that. I was the youngest Instructor, then Director for ITT Education Services ever, until that division closed. I was told that “those who can, do, those who can’t, teach” so I returned to industry and have remained for the majority of my career. I have never been a white-collar engineer, preferring to be “on the floor” doing than most, I don’t mind being in a cabinet doing troubleshooting. I am a geek, liking to program and build projects as a hobby and as a way to learn and develop new skills. That is how I keep my digital skills, and programming in C/C++ up to date and how I am learning Python.
