About Daria Matza

I still believe in the power of social change through engaging storytelling. With over twenty years experience in media production, some highlights include co-editing the Emmy Award-winning film, An Inaugural Ride to Freedom (PBS), producing a psychological-thriller in Budapest, Angels of Darkness (Showtime), and directing and producing Rise of the Giants (iTunes), a feature-length documentary about giant pumpkin growers. I'm always looking to learn new media skills and create which lead to the podcast project, Every Body. The show delves into the destructive consequences of diet culture and was honored by XRAY radio in 2019 with the Required Reading Award. With a B.S in Broadcast Journalism and Masters in Film, Television and New Media, I also teach video production, multimedia storytelling, film history and film theory classes at Pierce College and Clackamas Community College. I have expertise (@One certified) in building online curricula with an emphasis in humanizing the online learning experience. I'm on the board of Women and Film in Portland, OR and hope to further use my creative skills to make this planet a better place.
