I’ve told stories about cybersecurity keeping ideas safe and businesses running, robots teaching girls to spark curiosity for tech (and a bit of self-confidence), and AI reshaping the world faster than anyone can say “machine learning.” I love the times when it feels a bit like being a Babel fish for technology – quietly translating complex ideas into something everyone can understand, and occasionally wondering what universe I’ve landed in. These days I work in communication for computer science and AI at the University of Bonn – sometimes inward (helping teams understand each other), sometimes outward (helping the world understand us). Science and technology light up my eyes – and, on bad Wi-Fi days, drive me slightly mad. But whether it’s a neural net or a newsletter, I’m fascinated by how information flows, and what happens when people truly understand what’s behind technology. I care deeply about equal opportunity, diversity, and giving every voice a microphone, not just a seat at the table. Different perspectives aren’t a challenge – they’re the magic.
