About Daria Venkova

My fundamental background is primarily in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and clinical spaces. In my executive role at a veterinary platform diagnostic company, I’ve raised a seed investment round leveraged by multiple governmental grants which allowed us to further technology developments and engage experts to run animal trials. I have later co-founded Purley A&D Consulting (purley-consulting.com), through which we’ve worked with medical device and pharmaceutical companies globally, with a focus of international market expansions, particularly into Canada and the US. We’ve been successful in bringing companies in front of multi-million dollar investment opportunities, and helped them see those very deals through via our legal branch. Since then, our scope of work has expanded beyond biotechnology into activities including supply chain management, international trade brokerage and negotiating contracts in import/export of various commodities. Parallel to the biotech space, I have started Purley Studio (purley.com), a sustainable fine-jewelry brand that encapsulates Central Asian and Byzantine motifs. Being part-Turkmen and always interested in matters of ethical fashion, this direction in branding has come naturally for me. We work with family-run artisanal goldsmith shops across Central Asia to bring forth unique made-to-order pieces as well as personalized jewelry, creating pieces of true luxury not to be found on anyone else. Most recently, our team has also launched Purley Caviar, a Canadian source of premium sturgeon roe caviar from the Caspian Sea area. Historically, Caspian Sea has been the origin source for highly coveted sturgeon caviar. Rapidly evolving advancements in aquaculture combined with multi-generational farming expertise native to the region has resulted in the most ethical and highest quality caviar in the world, which is now available Canada-wide (purleycaviarclub.com).
