About Darien C.

Hi, my name is Darien Caine. For the last 7 years I have had the absolute pleasure of working at at the African-American Shakespeare Company, a black-led non-profit theatre in my home city of San Francisco, CA. Most recently that has involved serving as the company's first Operations Manager, a position I carved out for myself to help support the company's mission across all departments. In this role I pride myself on being systems and solutions oriented. My goal is to get my company and colleagues from inception to execution in the way that makes the most sense for everyone involved. One of my most impactful experiences growing up was in an after school theatre program through an organization called Handful Players, which my current company is now the stewards of after a merger we finalized in December 2023! That is just one of the full circle moments that has defined my life and it's been an amazing opportunity to give back to the community here in The City. The chance especially to work in and around so many other individuals and organizations dedicated to producing works that demonstrate the depth of the human experience and bettering the lives of the communities we are imbedded in has been immensely rewarding.
