About Darin Baumann

With over a quarter of a century in the industry and 12 years in a supervisory position, I bring a lot to the table. Over a decade as an OCM/OCS on both DSV’s and anchor vessels, the challenges I have faced on multiple projects of different scopes and focus have given me the experience required to see projects completed safely and in a timely manner. Assessing risk and applying controls to get the job done safely is the focus in the industry and I have completed projects to the clients satisfaction in multiple regions world wide. From the middle east to SE Asia, West Africa, and the Gulf of Mexico, I have experienced the shifts in the industry over the years. With a background in big pipe and spools, low visibility and high current, it takes “time in” to learn the multiple helpful “tricks of the trade” that some people never acquire. As a competency assessor, I am always assessing my crew(s) to identify and correct short comings. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses and leaders must be able to identify those and play off them. From mobilizing portable systems and the audits/close outs that come with it to state of the art DSV’s, I am “plug and play” adaptable and ready for anything the industry has in store for me today and in the future.
