About Darin Hastings

Born into a musical family, my father, Richard Hastings, is a professional classical, jazz guitarist, and greatly influenced me to begin a musical journey. My mother was a working pianist and singer in L.A, and my step father, Paul Williams, is a singer/songwriter, and president of ASCAP. All have been substantial influences in my musical pursuits, providing expert professional advice and encouragement. At age seven I began developing skills as a guitarist, learning every single one of Slash's solo's by age 12. From there I began writing. Shortly after I began producing hip hop beats using analog equipment such as drum machines and synthesizers in my father's studio. As a teenager I put together my own studio, which led to an interest in producing others. Since then I've mastered audio programs such as Pro Tools, Cubase, Reason, Ableton, Countless VST plug ins, Fruity loops and Wavelab. From there I started producing hip hop, club, trap, rap, dance beats and reggae which I sell to artists. Visit to listen to my beats. Los Federalies was my High school band and became a local sensation in Los Alamitos, CA (borders Long Beach and Orange County). Writing all the songs, lead singer/guitarist, it could be said that I was the driving force in the band. We were very popular and sold out local venues such as the Roxy, Whiskey and Di Piazza's in Long Beach. We released one full length album in the punk genre which can be found on the band website listed below and are currently taking a fresh new direction in releasing a reggae, acoustic, mellow pop album that is set to be released this summer of 2015. I am currently seeking management. Other skills: As AV Tech at high-end hotels, certified as field producer at PADNET,(Long Beach Public Cable), experienced video editor on Final Cut. Marketing: Proficient at: Adobe CS4-6 (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere). Experienced website designer as well as graphic design.
