About Darius Lane

Recent graduate of Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering where I competed as a Division-1 athlete all four years. While studying to be a Civil Engineer, I was able to gain valuable skills needed to perform in the civil engineering industry. In my final two semesters, I got first had experience in my Senior Design Project of what it takes to work together with others in order to get all phases of project complete and ready to formally present to the public. I was able to be exposed to and gain experience using AutoCAD and RISA Products to perform a series of structural design & analysis for a two-story building I was assigned to design via the project scope. I also had the opportunity to work ArcGIS Pro where I learned how to create & design maps of various themes as well. During my time as a college athlete, I was chosen by my teammates to be my class representative for our team's Leadership Council while also receiving recognition as a member of the Fall 2023 Pioneer Football Academic Honor Roll. Playing college football taught me the importance of possessing the need for discipline, patience, and perseverance at the face of adversity. I have also learned leadership & organizational management skills during my time as president of my university's chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. My chapter was able to receive Most Improved Chapter GPA during my term as well as gain a greater presence on campus. Ultimately, I am an enthusiastic and driven individual inspired to lead others when presented the opportunity. Looking to constantly challenge myself every day to seek knowledge and experience to help advance my professional development. I am currently looking forward to pursuing my MBA with a concentration in Project Management at Elmhurst University.
