About Darius Valaitis

I am an experienced woodworking technology expert. I consult clients on choosing the right equipment for their industrial production. My deep familiarity with woodworking machines allows me to guide woodworking companies in choosing and using right products. An engineer by education, I spent nine years of my professional career at IKEA Industry where I had the opportunity to specialize in different areas and stages of the production process. To this day, I am grateful for all the invaluable professional lessons I learned at IKEA. Having reached the ceiling of my position, however, I was ready for a new challenge where my unique expertize could be of the greatest value. That’s how, in 2021, my new career chapter at Machinery Assist started. In my professional conversations with woodworking companies, I strictly adhere to three principles- Technological progress is not a goal in itself: significant investments into new machinery must be made according to well-established ROI calculations. The most expensive machinery is not the best option for every manufacturer- If fixing or upgrading existing machinery makes more sense economically compared to buying brand new machinery, that would always be my first recommendation- If existing machinery is producing suboptimal results, the fault doesn’t always lie with the machinery. In some cases, it is being used in a way that is not optimal. If that’s the case, our team can also assist clients in optimizing machinery usage efficiency.
