About Darius Valevicius

I am a PhD student in the department of Neuroscience at University of Montreal, where I am working on using fMRI neurofeedback and machine learning to generate affective images for emotion research. My past studies include a bachelor's in Cognitive Science at McGill, where I graduated with honours and a minor in History and Philosophy of Science, and a master's degree in Neuroscience, also at McGill. I have also held several research and software development jobs, including software research development at the McGill Centre for Integrative Neuroscience, working on fMRI data processing infrastructure, and a research assistant position in McGill's department of Philosophy, studying the ethics and theory of psychometric measurement at youth mental health clinics in Canada. I also work as a program assistant at McGill's Building 21, where I support and mentor students in pursuing independent and creative research projects. Outside of my professional and educational background, I have been involved with the Montreal game development community and worked on several of my own projects. I run a computational and traditional arts club called the Creative Arts and Tech Lab (CATLAB), affiliated with Building 21, and I am a hobby artist, musician, photographer, and boxer.
