About Darlene Lawrence

I have been serving the underserved in the DMV for more than 30 years. I am board certified in Family Medicine with concentrations in Maternal Child Health, Practice Management, Wellness & WellBeing and Advocacy. Core Faculty at TWC GME National Family Medicine Residency and Adjunct Faculty at Georgetown University School of Medicine and Howard University School of Medicine, I have taught and trained medical students and Family Medicine Residents for more than three decades in the full range of Primary Care, Allopathic and Osteopathic Family Medicine. I still see patients weekly at Unity Health Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center in Ward 6 of Washington DC. In addition to my clinical and Academic work, I have been active in organizational Medicine serving on the Board of Directors of the DC Academy of Family Physicians, and in several liaison positions for the American Academy of Family Physicians, our National Parent Organization. I am a Credentialed Balint Leader in the ABS, a 2 year Fellow of the Physicians Health & Wellbeing Fellowship, a 3 year Fellow in Doximity Digital Health and a Harvard School of Public Health Community Health Fellow. I am a GSUSA, GSCNC Girl Scout Troop Leader and Hive Leader, and a Scouts BSA Eagle Scout Mom. My community service roots run deep, from my own neighborhood into the poorest Wards of the City, to poor areas in the US to areas outside of my own country. Let's chat about how I can serve next!
