About Darrel Davis

With over 10 years of experience in the banking industry and a passion for artificial intelligence, I am a founder, president, and emerging expert in AI governance. I lead the Global Media Trust Alliance (GMTA), a visionary organization that provides effective guidance around governance for artificial intelligence, especially in the areas of authentication, IP protection, dataset training, and licensing. I collaborate with other stakeholders and partners in the technology industry to advance the ethical and responsible use of AI, and to democratize its benefits for society. In addition to my role at GMTA, I am also a VP of Core Deposit & Enterprise Application Support at First Citizens Bank (FCB), a leading financial institution with over $200 billion in assets. I manage a highly skilled, multifunctional team that ensures the optimal performance, security, and resilience of critical banking applications, such as core banking, document archive, anti-money laundering, and robotic process automation. I oversee implementation of software development & upgrades, coordinate testing, ensure compliance and liaise with third-party vendors, while maintaining high standards of service and quality. I have received an Award of Excellence and a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for my outstanding service and leadership.
