About Darrell Kean
I came into the post secondary world of Langara College in 1991 after 12 years of policing with the City of Vancouver, British Columbia. My external experiences as a former police officer, my academic focus as a criminologist plus my consulting interests as a program evaluator, training needs and risk management analyst provide students and clients with a unique and balanced perspective. My work at Langara College is now primarily as an instructor in Criminal Justice Programs. I have also been a Division Chair, where I oversaw 10 academic departments including, Asian Studies, Economics, Geography, School of Management, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Latin and Political Science, I have also been the Chair of Criminal Justice Programs. Langara College has been a fantastic organization to work for. Faculty and staff operate within a very collegial environment with a primary focus of enhancing the learning experiences of its students.
