About Darrell Smith

I am a registered architect in the state of Texas, but do not currently practice. Instead, I teach Architects, Engineers, Interior Designers, Manufacturers, and Contractors across the city, state, & country how to use software programs in the AEC industry: Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM (Building Information Modeling) Software. I have trained over students and assisted over 300 firms in successfully implementing Revit, Navisworks, and BIM into their firm culture. My company is called “The Mendicant Architect”,(The “Homeless Preacher” Architect). While the name has a history with me that I would be glad to share with you, I thought it was somewhat appropriate considering my current business model (Teaching/Evangelizing for BIM/Revit) and my lack of a particular office, or “home”, location (teaching on-site hopping from firm to firm). While I have taught at such institutions as the University of Texas (Austin), ITT Tech (Austin), and Del Mar College (Corpus Christi), consulting and training for private firms is my primary business. In addition to training and mentoring, I am an Authorized Agent for I offer my expertise relating to the AEC Industry, IDP, and BIM for all of the following related services: 1.
