About Darrell Utley

I’m Darrell — a third-generation Deaf, ASL consultant, and former child performer with early credits in Family Ties, Days of Our Lives, and Beverly Hills 90210. I began my career in front of the camera at a young age but stepped away in 1996 to explore new avenues: advocacy, education, leadership, and business. In the years that followed, I held multiple roles serving the Deaf community — including supervisor for disability services, regional manager in video relay interpreting, interpreter mentor, and ASL tutor. I also served on advisory boards, including one for the Mayor of the City of Riverside, dabbled briefly in the food industry, and worked closely with families of Deaf children to promote early, culturally grounded ASL acquisition. Now, I’m returning to the industry that first shaped me — with more depth, clarity, and life experience than ever. I’m passionate about telling real stories that reflect Deaf lives with accuracy, nuance, and dignity. Whether I’m in front of the camera, consulting behind the scenes, or teaching ASL, my mission is the same: to bridge worlds and spark change. Let’s collaborate. Let’s create. Let’s disrupt the norm.
