About Darren Beriro

I am a research Geoscientist and Geologist focused on co-creating data-driven methods and tools for decisions-makers involved in land use planning and brownfield redevelopment. I take a central role in interdisciplinary teams to understand user requirements prior to applying specialist skills to produce digital and geoscience led outcomes. I pride myself in being a member of award-winning teams working with a diverse group of people. My work now is influenced by my experience in running an environmental management consultancy, completing a PhD in machine learning and contaminant bioavailability and providing geoscience support for the British Geological Survey and its public national good role. I do this by helping to address key societal challenges by applying systems thinking to sustainable place-making in collaboration with public, private and academic colleagues.
