Background
About Darren Brealey
Allow me to introduce myself, as you seek to fill your next opportunity. I wish to leverage my management skillset, project experiences, and tacit skills in project management, delivery management, service delivery lead, and other project-centric opportunities. I've engaged in complex organisations managing multifaceted projects. One brief required hardware installation in locomotives as part of a driver safety program. I managed various technical, non-technical, and Trade teams and vendors throughout QLD, NSW, SA, and WA. I've led project teams and vendors to build ICT infrastructure, manage budgets, plan and mitigate processes, risks and issues, and create documentation. I've worked with engineers to create and build ICT internal processes, and equipment. Post COVID-19 I managed supply-chain issues with international shipments, delivery lag times, and vendors, tracking supply-chain issues, and strongly managing expectations within projects. I engaged and communicated with stakeholders throughout each phase and stage-gate with planned benefits and outcomes demonstrating positive strategies. I research local specialist knowledge within organisations; intellectual property, understanding quirks, and best project processes before planning, scheduling, and implementing activities to meet stakeholder expectations. Personal Statement Success comes from an organisation’s people. It's vitally important to develop respectful interpersonal relationships and communicate collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders by leaning into and engaging. Success in navigating complex projects, communicating information and advice, managing project deliverables, independently, and co-operatively, and demonstrating respect, cohesion, inclusivity, and fostering colleagues contributes towards a successful and cohesive team. My interpersonal skills are excellent, I confidently communicate, written and orally, throughout all levels of an organisation. I demonstrate strong negotiation skills with confidence and knowledge, thus securing commitment to shared goals. The ‘getting to yes’ process bodes well for project negation. Sometimes, a good sense of humour and acknowledgement of irony can break down barriers. I work well within a diverse culture and have been a diversity and inclusion champion in previous places of employment (a volunteer role). Harnessing different approaches from different cultures broadens my understanding of people and improves my life and learning. I enjoy finding ways to have a successful impact on workplace performance.
