About Darren Conner

In my current role, I serve as the President of Dewberry Engineers Inc, the firm’s nationwide engineering practice. I oversee operations within 50 offices coast to coast, offering diverse services including environmental, site/civil, structural, mechanical/electrical, energy, and transportation engineering. Previously, I held the position of president of the firm’s southeast division, directing approximately 500 personnel in 24 offices. My career with Dewberry began in 1984, and I bring over 30 years of experience to the firm. I led the company’s Corporate Accounts Initiative in its beginning which resulted in significant growth in our private sector business. My accomplishments also include leading Dewberry’s growth strategy in the Southeast. I also led the acquisition and integration of two Florida engineering firms whose client base align with Dewberry’s culture. The acquisitions have added nearly 250 employees to the firm. I am a member of the Virginia State Board for Community College and a Past Chair for Danville Community College’s Educational Foundation Board of Directors. I was selected to the Academy of Distinguished Alumni for the Virginia Tech Charles E. Via, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. I earned my bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech and an associate’s degree in pre-engineering from Danville Community College. I am a licensed professional engineer in a dozen states.
