About Darren Fortune

I'm currently part of the Genesys Cloud Security team as an Audit Operations Analyst, specializing in technical evidence collection, evidence automation, and acting as a technical SME for security audits across multiple ISO 27001 (Internal Audit and External Audit) domains — including Access Control, Security Incident Management, Capacity Management, and Logging and Monitoring. I have hands-on experience gathering technical evidence for certifications and frameworks including PCI DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST, C5, SOX, and ENS. I also work with Git for version control for our internal Audit Management tool as well as contributing to the development and maintenance. I’m passionate about improving audit readiness, procedure reviews, compliance operations, and cloud security processes. I recently completed the BSI ISO 42001 AIMS Lead Auditor course (exam scheduled) and earned my AWS Cloud Quest Cloud Practitioner badge. In addition to my professional experience, I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Software Development and Cybersecurity, and a BA (Hons) in English and History. My technical training includes Secure Python Web Application Development (focused on OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities), Java OOP, HTML/CSS/JavaScript development, network attacks and defense strategies, and algorithms for advanced cybersecurity and secure coding. I'm continuously building both my technical depth and my operational compliance expertise to bridge the gap between security frameworks and real-world implementation.
