About Darren Henderson

Following 10 years of post-undergraduate work experience, I returned to college to pursue an MBA at UC Irvine's Paul Merage School of Business. In those ten years I experienced a whirlwind of opportunities as I started as a secretary and part-time accountant for a small Internet advertising start-up called CPMStar. This tiny venture exploded over the course of a couple years, offering me a front row seat in the process of a small tech start-up being acquired by a larger corporation, in this game GSN. At GSN I took a risk and volunteered for the role of editor-in-chief of a game enthusiast website, OnRPG, where I experienced the bulk of my managerial experience overseeing an international team of journalists while coordinating with the CPMStar and GSN sales team on funding and growing the websites. This position evolved into a general manager position overseeing the both sites under the GEE alliance, and connected me with countless players in the online gaming industry from Korea and Taiwan to the UK and Germany. I gained valuable experience in ad sales negotiations, PR, forum management, on-site press coverage, team management, editing, crosscultural etiquette, eSports organization, youtube, social media marketing, hiring, and countless other activities through this experience. Through my MBA program and internship at Mattel, I gained the skills and acumen to take on a full-time role as a global brand team member for Mattel's Games Division, where I now serve overseeing the Kids Evergreen and Adult Games Portfolios as an Associate Marketing Manager.
