Can impart a lot of technical knowledge through three decades of railway signalling design, install, maintenance and repair and four decades of interest of electronics firstly from a young age at a hobbyist level and then continuing on at a professional level. Specialties: Domestic and Industrial electronic equipment repair and modification down to individual parts level on circuit boards. High reliability hand soldering. Surface mount component rework both by hand and machine assisted. Microprocessor interfacing and control with 8051/8052, Z80, AVR and PIC microprocessor. Been involved with TiVo personal video recorder technology since 2001, initially with the OzTiVo hobbyist group but since expanded into the commercially available units. Can offer advice and repair of TiVo equipment. I also restore vintage home computers (ie Commodore 64, Atari, etc) and full size video game machines (ie Pacman, Space Invaders, etc) and pinballs.
