About Darren Melling

A football recruitment specialist and learning & development professional with a wealth of experience identifying, assessing, and developing talent across Category One academies and first‑team environments. My scouting journey has taken me through roles with Everton, Stoke City, and Blackburn Rovers, where I’ve built a reputation for data‑informed player analysis, clear reporting, and long‑term talent tracking.Alongside football, I bring extensive expertise in programme management, systems training, and digital transformation within the NHS and education sectors. I’ve led large‑scale training rollouts, designed SOPs, and delivered digital adoption projects that improved efficiency, compliance, and staff engagement across multi‑site organisations.I possess the ability to combine strategic insight with practical delivery — whether that’s recommending a player for a top level football club, or guiding a workforce through a complex systems change. I thrive in collaborative environments, value evidence‑based decision making, and am committed to continuous professional development, currently pursuing an MSc in Scouting & Recruitment in Football.
