About Darren Ryder

With postgraduate qualifications in resource management and higher education, I have over 25 years senior management experience across the breadth of Higher Education, Vocational Education and Training, ELICOS, and industry and government engagement and training. A deep understanding of education and training policy, governance, compliance, quality assurance and risk affords me a holistic perspective across the domestic and international education sector to set strategic direction, establish priorities, and implement operational strategies for sustainable growth. Experience in the design and delivery of engaging education and training programs is demonstrated with a recent Australian Award for University Teaching (AAUT). High level project management experience has created enduring partnerships across a diversity of industry, government, and education sectors. I lead teams to deliver a quality assured end-to-end partner experience from stakeholder engagement, proposal development and presentation, contract negotiation, on-time service and product delivery, budgets, finance and reporting. I specialise in synthesising and integrating knowledge across disciplines and crave evidence to find creative solutions to complex challenges. As a graduate and Fellow of the Peter Cullen Trust Leadership Program, I am a transformative leader who understands that facilitating the knowledge and attitudes to foster trust in leadership is essential to personal, individual and team growth.
