About Darren Tan

Darren currently sits in a strategic cross border enablement and customer propositions growth role for the international and offshore market across the retail and private banking business with HSBC. Previously, Darren was in a senior relationship manager and venture & growth strategist role with Citibank IPB Singapore. He was dealing with offshore high net worth clients to manage their wealth and grow their portfolio through different investment vehicles while also curating growth strategies for the bank. Before that, he was under the MA programme with Citibank IPB Singapore. IPB serves to facilitate offshore banking for high-net-worth clients looking for a safe-haven to grow their wealth, and is straddled in a unique space between Retail Banking and Private Banking. Under the MA programme, his rotations to multiple parts of the business has enabled him to be cross-trained in varying areas, from support roles to investment roles, for the continued success of the business. His past rotations includes projects and roles within investment products, digital banking, data analytics, customer life cycle management, regional compliance, and strategic alliances & partnerships and sales. Darren was also an undergraduate from Singapore Management University (SMU), having a Bachelor of Business Management with a major in marketing and corporate communications. During his time there, he has been deeply involved in various activities from being a camp facilitator; to being the programmes director for his Overseas Community Service Program in Philippines; to voluntarily extending his passion in his craft of magic to the school for numerous events.
